Nora Espinoza

Programs Director

As Programs Director, Nora Espinoza leads the programming infrastructure that drives MentorKids USA's work across six Promise Neighborhoods in the Phoenix metro area. She oversees a team of six neighborhood managers — each leading their own site team — guiding curriculum implementation, staff development, and consistency of the MentorKids experience across every site. In an organization built on long-term relationships and community trust, Nora is the connective tissue between organizational vision and what actually happens on the ground.

Nora's connection to MentorKids is not just professional — it's personal. She first joined as a volunteer in 2014 and grew through every level of program leadership — Assistant Teacher, Lead Teacher, Program Coordinator, Neighborhood Manager — before stepping into her current role in 2023. Her trajectory is, in many ways, a living example of the leadership development model MentorKids is built on.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management from Northern Arizona University and brings more than a decade of hands-on organizational experience to her role. Nora is passionate about building the systems and relationships that allow teams to show up fully for kids and families — and she is especially inspired by watching God's plan unfold in each Promise Neighborhood and in the lives of the students and families they serve.

Outside of work, Nora enjoys the outdoors, kayaking, and time with her family — including her energetic twin toddlers.

"What makes the MentorKids model work is the long-term consistency of relationships. Real transformation happens when students are known, supported, challenged, and reminded consistently that they have purpose, value, and leadership potential."
