Alejandra Arellano
Alejandra Arellano has been part of the MentorKids community for seven years, beginning as a volunteer and growing into a trusted leader within the organization. An Arizona resident of 16 years, she is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology for Family Therapy alongside an Associate degree in Business Management. Prior to MentorKids, Alejandra spent five years as an Assistant Teacher at Palomino Intermediate School, bringing valuable experience in education and youth development.
Alejandra is passionate about building meaningful relationships with students and families and creating spaces where everyone feels supported and connected. With a strong creative background in music, photography, and video production—including many years of piano and a decade in her church chorus—she encourages students to explore their gifts while fostering both personal and academic growth. She is especially grateful for the deep bonds formed between staff, students, and families that make the MentorKids community strong.
In March 2026, Alejandra will step into the role of Promise Neighborhood Manager for MentorKids’ newest Promise Neighborhood, Sunnyslope. She is excited about the organization’s continued growth and the leadership opportunities this transition creates, both for the new neighborhood and for the Palomino team. Alejandra is proud of how staff and iLEADers have stepped up during this season, strengthening their roles and preparing to take on greater responsibility as MentorKids continues to expand.
