Research underscores the value of mentoring in the life
of an at-risk youth participating in formal mentoring programs
such as MentorKids USA. However,
researchers are quick to point out that the quality of the
programming provided is a major factor in the success of
those participating. Specifically, organizations that have
a well-defined screening process, followed by quality mentor
training and support experience the highest levels of success.
MentorKids USA incorporates
all three factors, and more, into the programming for mentoring.
In addition, as a faith-based organization, we believe
that God changes the hearts and lives of those who follow
Him. Jesus said, “What good is it for a man to gain
the whole world, and lose or forfeit his very self?”
(Luke 9:25) We regularly have mentees in our program come
to faith in Jesus Christ—many who experience significant
changes in their lives. (See MKUSA In Action)
